FFE D3D is an exciting new project from Russia, which is re-writing a lot of the FFE code from scratch. As the screenshot shows, the graphics are much enhanced, even when compared to GLFFE which itself was a huge step up from JJFFE
The project is currently in the Beta phase and much work is being done on - among other things - the re-modelling of the cities, planets and ships. Even at this stage FFE D3D is turning out to be the definitive FFE experience
