Racing Rings

Author: Aegidian

Intro

This OXP adds a series of racing rings to the Galaxy 1 systems of Lave and Zaonce, providing entertainment to Commanders visiting these planets.
Each race track contains a series of rings, which can be located with an Advanced Space Compass. Flying through the first ring sets the stop-watch running.
If the rings are flown through in order, flying through the final ring completes the circuit and the Commander's time is transmitted to him by the Race Administrator.
Requires Oolite 1.65+

With 1.65 is will show the time it takes to pass a single ring (from front to end) and the total time for 4 rings. With 1.71 or newer it will give split times for ring 2 and 3 and a total time for all 4 rings.

When use with Oolite 1.71+ also NPC ships will fly through the rings.

An update is available in the form of Ring Racer.

!! Warning: Oolite versions 1.75.0 until 1.75.3 have a bug that causes this oxp to functioning at all. This will be fixed in the first release after 1.75.3

Version History

Version 1.1.2: Made Oolite 1.75 compatible.
Version 1.1.1: Adapted to the new scripting system.
Version 1.0: Original release (Racing Rings)

Installing and Playing

To play the OXP, unzip the download file. This will create a folder named "ringpod xxx". Open this folder and you will see a folder named "ringpod xxx.oxp" and a readme. Move the ringpod xxx.oxp folder to AddOns. As with all OXPs, its the folder ending .oxp that you need to put in Oolite's AddOns folder, otherwise Oolite will not read it.
