Elite biography
Susimetsä first played Elite on a Commodore 64 in 1985 and immediately fell in love with it. He was 12 at the time and the game is one that he says "defined" him as a gamer, alongside the Ultima IV and Civilization games. He later played the game also on Amiga 500 and 1200, on which he also played Frontier: Elite 2. It was only when he bought a PC around 1996 that he started playing Frontier: First Encounters.
On Oolite forums, Susimetsä uses "Wolfwood" as his handle, which is a simple translation of his Finnish family name.
Contributions to Oolite
Literary
Susimetsä wrote the Marcan Rayger stories, about a Federal Military Intelligence sergeant. The stories were written long before Oolite was born, but they tell a story that could have easily happened in Oolite as well.
He is also the author of one of the stories in Tales from the Frontier, an official tie-in with the Elite: Dangerous game.
Game contributions
His main contribution to the Oolite game is his Wolfwood's Variants OXP, which adds Asp Mk.I, Cobra Courier, Cobra Rapier, Drake, Drake Mk II & Wolf Mk I into the game.
Personal life
Susimetsä is married and has one daughter. He enjoys reading and writing and an occasional sip of fine, aged rum.
