The Tetiri culture operates on a principal of esteem: adult females who attract admiration from their peer group don't age, physically. Esteem can be gained from artistic endeavour, or science, or general "wisdom". The '''Empress''' - the most esteemed female on Tetiri - is several dozen centuries old, and showing no sign of slowing down.
