Old Ships, Aegidian's Specials, Aegidian's X-Ships, and Python Class Cruiser.
Please note that this OXP does NOT replace any core ships, it adds a variety of extra ships to the game, all the ships are nicely balanced and the ships shouldn't be any harder for the average Jameson to kill.
The ships are styled similarly to Griff's ships and are designed to be used alongside his shipset.

Summary
This OXP has been developed by Staer9 and uses full shaders to create some (hopefully) great looking ships, it is based on the Neolite Companion Oxp and therefore replaces the following ships:
oldships.oxp, aegidean specials, aegidean x-ships, and Python Class Cruiser.

Please note that this OXP does NOT replace any core ships, it adds a variety of extra ships to the game, all the ships are nicely balanced and the ships shouldn't be any harder for the average Jameson to kill.

The ships are styled simmilarly to Griff's ships and are designed to be used alongside his shipset.
Griff has been working on producing some fantastic models of ships, which use normalmapping and shaders to produce some of the best looking ships available in Oolite. Not all ships are supported yet, announcements are made on the forum, so keep an eye on this thread.
Griff's Normalmapped Ships OXPs
Following the new guidelines on OXP Distribution, the all-in-1-bundle oxp has been split into a Resources oxp containing all the ship models, textures and shader files, and two Config oxps, one which replaces the core shipset with these ships and one which adds this ships alongside the default shipset (and any other ship packs you may have installed), download links are:

* Resources 1.2.22
* Core shipset Replacement 1.1. (V1.1 now includes Commander McLane's bugfix).
* Core shipset Addition 1.01

so to recap, you need to install the Resources oxp and one of either Core shipset Replacement or Core shipset Addition (depending on how you want these ships to appear in your game)

Flying Dutchman OXP (31.0Kb).<br />
Featuring Griff's Wireframe Cobra.<br />
Adds the small chance to meet a Ghost Ship in the Ooniverse. What is it? Some claim that it's the ghost of Commander Peter Jameson, reported lost at the end of the last Thargoid War, others that it is simply a manifestation of all those lost souls who were trapped in the trackless depths of interstellar space. One common story is the trail of bad luck and hideous deaths that follow in the wake of the ship's sightings...

Overview
Designed by Faulcon de Lacy and built in the Onrira Orbital Shipyards by Spalder and Starblaze Inc. to Galactic Navy specifications for a multi-purpose support craft, the ship began rolling off production lines in 2982. The specification was for a small, mass-produced ship which would be inexpensive to build by the thousand.

Notable Features
While the Galactic Navy still uses thousands of these small ships for reconnaisance and as a light fighter, in recent years this ship is more commonly seen as a trader escort. Value-conscious traders hauling a bellyful of cargo in large ships like the Anaconda use the Sidewinder to make up for the large ship's lack of manoeuverability. The small ship is difficult to hit, but can pack a reasonable punch if equipped with beam lasers. It is also strong for its size, and isn't instantly vaporized by a military laser.

It has no hyperspace capability. The normal technique is for the Sidewinder pilot to keep the ship close to the 'mothership', and then use its wormhole to reach the destination. Being small, many Sidewinders can pass through the wormhole without collapsing it, meaning a trader using this ship as an escort is likely to come out of the other end of the jump with a full compliment of escorts.

The Sidewinder is often sought out by 'guns for hire', often young pilots with good reactions, offering to escort trade ships into dangerous situations. The low cost of the ship coupled with its manoeuverability attracts it to many a pilot who's starting out and looking to make a living without having to get involved in trading.

It is increasingly being found as a pirate escort, too - inexpensive to equip, and if remotely piloted, cheap to lose in battle, pirates have begun to use this ship to attack traders before arriving in their larger, slower and less combat-ready cargo hauler to pick over the remains. Be suspicious of Sidewinders seen alone - since they are not hyperspace capable it is more than likely the ship they came along with is lurking just out of scanner range, and the crew might not have your safe passage in mind.
A new bridge has been constructed with fittings for the latest in quick-release luxury life-pods, and even the once cluttered main hold has been extended by five cubic tonnes.
Overview
The Python Class Cruiser was a larger and faster sister ship to the Python, rolling off the production lines at Inera Orbit Space along with the Python, production beginning in 2720, production ceasing at around the same time as Python production ended. Most traders see the Python's successor, the Boa, as a retrograde step when compared to the Python Class Cruiser, and most commentators are of the opinion that the Boa should never have been constructed - instead, the PCC should have been updated. The market seems to agree too; the company has never regained the kinds of sales figures that they had in the 2800s when Python and Python Class Cruiser production was at its peak. On the other hand, the Python Class Cruiser was a much more expensive ship to build (and to buy when new) than the Boa.

Notable features
The Python Class Cruiser these days is typically favoured by pirates. It can hold its own in battle, it's fast for its size and it is built very strong. The shark's teeth design was a standard paintwork option, and it gives the ship a fearsome posture. Many honest traders choose this ship too - typically, a standard model can be had on the open market for Cr.360,000 - much less than a brand new Boa. But unlike the brand new Boa, any PCC on the market will be old and will need looking after. It's unquestionable that it is a lot of ship for the money, though.

A 15 TC cargo bay extension is available, although many owners don't bother with it, finding 145 TC more than adequate for the small stock market (which typically can only just fill a Python Class Cruiser) - but with the extension, the ship is still slightly too small for most carrier jobs - most of which really require ships on the scale of the Anaconda.

Probably the most unusual feature of the ship is the ram-augmented engines. The highly visible ram scoop can utilize charged particles from the solar wind as extra reaction mass leading to the relatively speedy performance of the ship. On the other hand, the ram scoop and associated supercharging system is often found to be a tiresome maintenance item.
Overview
First manufactured in 2981, by Outworld Workshops, there is no denying the comforts available to a pilot inside an Ophidian Class Yacht, and few who fly them do. Though the ship enjoys little outspoken respect among experienced spacefarers, quite a few secretly consider to, and often do, trade in their ship for an Ophidian upon reaching the twilight years of their careers.

Suitable to moderate trading activities, pleasant to pilot and capable of decent speed, an owner's main grievance is its insufficient shields. To take one's mind off this, there is the Zero-G jacuzzi, 5S entertainment system, and a GourmetDroid.

Oldships 2010 version
The Oldships 2010 comes in two colors. The Red and the Blue. There's no difference between these two versions in performance.
This type of vessel was flown by Jason Ryder, father of Alex Ryder and Elite combateer in Robert Holdstock's The Dark Wheel novella. This vessel's registry name was the 'Avalonia'.
Overview
The Mussurana snake is a snake that eats other snakes. Perhaps the Mussurana Void-Yacht can be called a snake ship that eats other snake ships. Agile, reasonably quick and easy to equip well as a trade ship that can look after itself, this new offering from the Zorgon Petterson Group goes on to continue the reputation that ZPG gained after it designed the now legendary Fer de Lance.

Notable Features
Weighing in at a colossal Cr.875,000 for the standard model, this is a ship made for the rich, with an interior to match. The ship has luxurious appointings, without appearing decadent or in bad taste. Zorgon Petterson Group's interior designers have created luxury living quarters with the same clean and understated industrial design that wealthy and discerning commanders have come to expect. This is the ship that Steve Jobs would fly were he to visit Lave and obtain his pilots license.

The comfortable living arrangements does not mean the ship is comfortable for those who make it their target. Most Mussurana commanders spare no expense on defences and weaponry, so you can expect to find any Mussurana you encounter to equipped with military lasers and witch fuel injectors. Well-heeled bounty hunters with a sense of class are often seen in the Mussurana, having traded up from their Fer de Lance.

Incidents
Only a week after the Mussurana went on sale at Zorgon Petterson Group dealerships, a Mussurana was used to assassinate the charismatic leader of the United Metalworkers Union in Reorte. The ship evaded police Viper patrol craft, and slipped into hyperspace. The perpetrator still has not been caught.
Monitor Industries sold the Monitor Trademark in 3114 after Zorgon Petterson Group was not interested anymore in selling the ship. Sources within the company said this was due to a bad marketing strategy. Problem with the ship was its speed. Only a creeping 0.18 LM. Monitor industries lowered some prices and also brought down the production costs resulting in a more competitive position within the market. Its strong selling points are of course the large cargo space and the 6 energy banks and with 5 pylons a commander can make it as a good weapon platform too.
Overview
From EliteA.

Ship built in 3077 by Aligatormen, an alien race from outside of GalCop.
The Aligator race is slightly backward technologically, but they are fierce and numerous.
They are no match for the Navy, but as the Thargoid Threat keeps our boys and gals occupied in deep space, the Gators have grown bolder of late and have been making savage raids into GalCop territory and preying on commercial shipping.

Oldships 2010 Version
After the Gators where defeated lots of their ships where considered suitable for conversion. The Ghavial is still a good ship with a reasonable cargo space abeit slow. It has a 'Crocodile teeth livery' as a decoration on the hull.

Drawbacks
As this is a non-GalCop ship, it does not have standard fittings for GalCop hightech goodies. Nor is it commonly available, Spacedredgers and Deepspace Hermits specialising in ship salvage are your best bet if you collect alien artefacts.
'Wild' Ghavials have only basic weaponry and no shields to speak of, but the more basic GalCop-made equiment can be fitted by a specialised mechanic.

The 'converted' Ghavials are adapted to make use of standard weapon slots

Feared as a ship that can strike fast and deadly. Little is known about the origins of the Cat other than that the ship originates in Galaxy 5. The Cat is now seen in more and more shipyards. It is a very fast ship which offers a lot for its size. A favorite for regulars who visit the Seedy Space Bars for a hit. The ship is able to strike hard and fast. Its drawback is that it only has one pylon.
Overview
First in service in 3001, and launched at the Onrira Orbital, Bushmasters are only available to members of the Mining Guild. These peaceful ships, protected under GalCop statutes, plough through space, mining asteroids and extracting trace minerals. They only attack when freeloading pilots steal their hard-earned profits. However, mining lasers aren't particularly worrying.

Oldships 2010.oxp version
Moorspace inc. Updated the Bushmaster Miner in 3101 to celebrate it's 100th years of service to more allround trading ship with emphasis on mining. They sold them in low quantities on the open market for an average of 10.000 credits. A lot of enhancements where made. Better computers, more room and better living quarters.
Overview
The Asp Mk.II began life as purely a military machine, the first production model entering service with the Galactic Navy in 2878. The enigmatic craft was unveiled after a lengthy period of secrecy, and immediately went into battle in the first (and most deadly) round of the Thargoid wars. In other parts of the universe, the ship was used as a patrol vessel. Once the ship was effectively superseded by the Behemoth with a bellyful of Vipers, the ship was produced under license by Zorgon Petterson Group and sold to civilian pilots. The main target market was trader escorts.

Notable Features
The ship has no cargo capacity, and none can be fitted; its only use is as a fighter or courier vessel. It is fast, and with the availability of the full enhancements of military shields and shield boosters allied with a military laser, makes a fearsome fighting ship. This has made it popular with bounty hunters and pirates alike. If you find an Asp alone - watch out - if it's a pirate vessel, it's certain that his buddies are biding their time and waiting to sift through your wreckage after their Asp makes short work of you. That slightly disproportional hexagon seen glinting in the sun can either be your best friend or your deadliest enemy, depending on whose hands it is in.

Zorgon Petterson Group, in a mostly successful attempt to make the ship more appealing to customers made a minor facelift to the ship in recent years, creating the Asp Mk.II Special. Its performance is substantially similar to the regular version of the ship - most of the changes being cosmetic: enlarged heatsinks around the main engine thrusters and a slight cut-out in the front of the ship, exposing more of the laser barrel, has given the ship a more aggressive look. ZPG simultaneously used their expertise in first-class cabin furnishings, leading 'Which Spaceship?' to describe the ship as a 'poor man's Fer de Lance'. Considering a new Asp Mk.II Special costs Cr.450,000 prior to any equipment fit, it is unsure who 'What Spaceship?' is classifying as a poor man.

The ChupaCabra is a bird-shaped ship designed with pirates and bounty hunters in mind. It was the last ship to be made by Staer9 Industries before Galcop froze their assets. After many developments in HUD creation the master HUD creator CommonSenseOTB agreed to make an awesome HUD especially for the ChupaCabra
Overview
Shortly after Staer9 Industries had it's assets frozen by GalCop a new company was formed, known as GHOST (Galactic Heavy Ordnance and Ship Technology). It is rumoured that Staer9 has some place in the R&D team, but so far nothing can be proven.

The GHOST Gunship is the first ship to be officially released by GHOST, although several others have somehow found their way into the black-market. GHOST requested a special grant from GalCop to produce ships Tax-Free, which the corrupt officials quickly agreed to after acepting a shipment of the Gunships for their fleet. Because of this the Gunships are quite good value-for-money and were quickly snapped up by many pirates.
version 1 - original release

version 1.1 - unreleased test version (unreleased due to a misspelling which was thankfully found before release)

version 1.2 - made the lasers frangable and added two more front lasers, which was the original intent, also changed it's name to GHOST Gunship (Thanks El Viejo) as well as heavy polygon removal which chops it from 6400 to 3600
Overview
Shortly after Staer9 Industries had it's assets frozen by GalCop a new company was formed, known as ASAD (Advanced Ship Armament Devision). It is rumoured that Staer9 has some place in the R&D team, but so far nothing can be proven.

The ASAD Gunship is the first ship to be officially released by ASAD, although several others have somehow found their way into the black-market. ASAD requested a special grant from GalCop to produce ships Tax-Free, which the corrupt officials quickly agreed to after acepting a shipment of the Gunships for their fleet. Because of this the Gunships are quite good value-for-money and were quickly snapped up by many pirates.
Aegidian Shipyards, creators of the Behemoth for GalCop were first to step up with their design dubbed the Cobra Mark 3.5, which rapidly became known as the "Chopped Cobra" after it's revolutionary hull design.

However, a few years on most of the ships in the galaxy had been re-worked by either Griff Industries or Neolite Shipyards, because nearly all ship designers had to step-up to compete with such incredible designs most of the older ships were either scrapped or sold on cheaply to other manufacturers. This was the case with the Chopped Cobra.

The re-design of the hull was based largely on the Griff Cobra and most parts were salvaged from crashed or destroyed cobras, this made the ships much cheaper and enabled them to compete with the mass-market. It didn't take long for the ship to catch on, and much like its predecessor it was largely favoured by boy-racers who endorned the hull with fancy paintings. Very shortly after, the paintings became an optional extra, with 19 different designs to choose from.

Also included in this OXP is the GalCop Cobra Enforcer, a tough Police version of the chopped Cobra which will be seen from time to time in the more troubled systems - Anarchies, Feudal worlds and Multi-government systems.
