Orisis Class is GASECWorks' newest heavy industry frigate. It can be adapted to many roles due to its Flex-space. Interior depends on the customer.
There are also Carrier variants for private contractors.

== First Customer - GASECspaceliners ==
The Orisis Ferry is a large Megaship by GASECspaceliners. It is based on the basic Orisis hull. It is a large passenger carrier intended for longer distances and also for systems outside the spaceways.

Currently it is operated by Oo-Go which provides different trips and cruises along the 8 galaxies. The Orisis Carrier does not dock, it loads from within the Station Safety Zone.

The first testflight was a disaster. An asteroid that travelled through the Witchspace hole impacted the ship at Diso and the first ship was destroyed. (Read about it in DaddyHoggy's excellent story [http://www.aegidian.org/bb/viewtopic.php?t=6103 Lazarus]). Later versions of the Orisis have some structural upgrades to prevent such disasters. Now the auto lifepod system ejects the passengers in case of disaster.

Traffic congestion in the Ooniverse is growing and while the stations are getting more advanced the market asked for a more radical solution. This solution comes in the form of the [[GASEC]] Superhub. The GASEC Superhub is the first station that is capable of transporting itself to its destination, two engine bays allow the GASEC SR-GD-S (Space Rotary Galactic Drive S) to be fitted. At the destination these engines can be taken out for re-use in other transport missions.

NB: flying or transport of the station is not featured in the OXP.

The superhub is accommodated for larger ships. Just fly into the blue orb and docking is taken care of. Once inside the orb the ship if transported via a mini-jump to the docking tube and shipyard.

== About The Superhub ==
Traffic congestion in the Ooniverse is growing and while the stations are getting more advanced the market asked for a more radical solution. This solution comes in the form of the [[GASEC]] Superhub. The GASEC Superhub is the first station that is capable of transporting itself to its destination, two engine bays allow the GASEC SR-GD-S (Space Rotary Galactic Drive S) to be fitted. At the destination these engines can be taken out for re-use in other transport missions.

NB: flying or transport of the station is not featured in the OXP.

Problem of the older stations was that docking always was dangerous, especially in larger freighters. How many times we have witnessed the sad sight of an exploding workers commuter? The superhub is accommodated for larger ships. Just fly into the blue orb and docking is taken care of.

Liners adds huge cruise liners to the space-ways. These are enormous vessels, self-contained cities in space, with often tens of thousands of passengers on board. They will occasionally be found en-route to the planet, or in orbit around the planet close to the Main Station where passengers can enjoy the facilities of the GalCop stations and visit the planet below. Many of these ships have their own escort ships, shuttles and supply ships and these will often be seen ferrying passengers, crew and supplies from the station or the liner.

Rarely does the traveller in the Ooniverse have the chance to spot the mighty Aurora Megacruiser. But once spotted, never forgotten. With a length of 4.3 kilometres and about 800 meters in height it really is a mobile world capable of supporting 500,000 souls in a standard setting. Transportation takes place by high speed people/alien movers. You may be surprised to learn the Aurora does not support a public ship dock. This is because the dock masters of the Aurora want to know exactly who is on board. A trip on an Aurora is the trip of a lifetime: the waiting list for a place on one of the Ooniverse's 100 Aurora Megacruisers is almost 10 years.

It's a safe ship but it still can be nuked or Q-bombed so expect it to be escorted by quite a large fleet. But rest assured, in case of an emergency evacuation, a large lifeboat fleet can comfortably accommodate the richer passengers.
Enjoy this ship while you can as the ship is going out of service because of the challenges of bringing the clients on board by pods (not featured in this OXP).

The 'Saga' class cruise liners are operated by P&Oo Cruises, who specialise in luxury retirement cruises. These one and a half kilometer long vessels are luxuriously appointed and have all the facilities their demanding clients require.

They tend to operate in 'safer' systems as the elderly passengers are looking for quiet enjoyment of their cruise, and the ships will normally be accompanied by two Adder escorts for added safety.

The staterooms are appointed up to five-star standards, and the ships have many quality restaurants, shops, cinemas and all the features a ship of this type would be expected to have.

One of the main features is the 'Concourse', a vast open atrium with several mezzanine decks, where you will find the shops and other public facilities. The 'Concourse' is topped by a vast plexiglass dome which has a viewing gallery aound it's base giving an incredible panoramic view above the ship. Often the liner will orientate itself so that, when in orbit around a planet, the planet can be seen 'hovering' above the ship.

== Overview ==

The Icosahedral station, or ‘Ico’, was introduced in 3137 as part of the GalCop galaxy wide upgrade. [[GASEC]] was again offered a contract to design the new prototype. The original design again offered some innovations over the DODO. It was now possible to park more ships in less space due to more efficient storage systems. So while externally ICO stations are about the same size of Coriolis and DODO stations it can store larger quantities of cargo and ships, planets often needed just one in orbit.

The Icosahedron stations landing dock size is the standard; 192m x 64m x 250m (WxHxL)

== Old Ships 2010 Version ==
Monitor Industries bought the Monitor Trademark in 3114 after Zorgon Petterson Group was not interested in selling the Monitor 1 anymore. After some cutting into the ZPG Monitor program they where able to sell a lot of them until in 3115 a new version was on the drawing board.

The Monitor 2 is an upgrade in almost every aspect from the Monitor 1. It has better pitch, roll and it has even decent speed for a trader. The Monitor 2 was launched as a poor trader's Python although the commanders that fly it are absolutely in love with the redesign.

After more than a year of hard work I release the latest and probably last incarnation of the Famous Planets series: Famous Planets 2.5.oxp. The amount of work in creating this OXP was a bit to much to be honest. I'm glad it's done. Special thanks go to Cmdr. Cheyd who managed to make this OXP compatible with future releases of System Redux while maintaining compatibility with current versions of Sys Redux (v.2.5). System Redux is not needed for this OXP to function properly. However it is '''VERY BIG in size: 631 mb.''' That's because I decided to release in one package to make installation easier.

Although this list was taken from Oolite the data applies well to the [[BBC_Micro|BBC Micro]] version of Classic Elite, and some other versions.

Each entry shows the system number, name, coordinates, tech level, inhabitants, government and a comment on the system.

For OXP writers, note that references to a particular galaxy in [[Oolite]] (in a [[Planetinfo.plist]] entry for example), should ''subtract 1 from the galaxy number'' – Galaxy 1 is referred to as 0, etc. The Technology Level numbers shown in the lists are the numbers displayed to the player (range 1-15), and again ''subtract 1 from this number'' (range 0-14) to get the value entered into planetinfo.plist.

If you read through the source code and/or binary for either Elite or Oolite, you will not find any text containing the list of planets and their properties. The entire universe (including the famous [http://www.frontier.co.uk/games/older/elite/faq.html edible poet]) is constructed programmatically (using a truncated Fibonacci function) from a handful of seed numbers and the strings "ABOUSEITILETSTONLONUTHNOAL" (used by the planet description string) and " ' 'LEXEGEZACEBISOUSESARMAINDIREA'ERATENBERALAVETIEDORQUANTEISRION" which is used both by the planet description string and to generate all the system names in the 8 Galaxies (the single quotes indicate placeholders where the planet name generation can be terminated early). The algorithm was reverse-engineered from the original BBC disk by [[ Christian Pinder]], and implemented in Objective-C for Oolite. Further details are given in the discussion of Elite's [[Random_number_generator|random number generators]].

The Dodecahedron stations, commonly called Dodos.. The Dodo stations are now common sight in high-tech systems. The first prototype of the basic [[GASEC]] model went into orbit around Leesti in 3141. At that moment the Leesti Coriolis was wiped out by a the comet Hal 9001. Scientists luckily predicted this impact a few months before the event after a major asteroid storm in the region. The new Dodo model could withstand impacts for much longer but it remains unclear why the new station was placed exactly in the same risky spot, probably for budget reasons. The Dodo-station proved to be a success.

The Dodo stations landing dock size is the standard 192m x 64m x 250m (WxHxL)

== Old Ships 2010 Version ==
Monitor Industries bought the Monitor Trademark in 3114 after Zorgon Petterson Group (ZPG) was not interested in selling the ship anymore. Sources within the ZPG said this was due to a bad marketing strategy. Problem with the Monitor was its speed. Only a creeping 0.18 LM. Monitor industries lowered some prices and also brought down the production costs resulting in a more competitive position within the market. This was possible because of redesign of the bridge and living quarters. The original wood finished seats and beds where replaced with polymers and metal. Basically all the luxury was taken out of the ship.
Its strong selling points today are the large cargo space, the 6 energy banks and the 5 pylons. A commander can own a good trader which is also a good weapon platform too.

==3115 Ooship central TV review==
Ooship central TV did a Holobroadcast about the Monitor in Early 3115. In a test it came out better than a Python in some aspects. The presenter praised the ships versatility in combination with pylon based equipment. It's weak points remained it's speed. Even with injectors you could just outrun a missile. The ship was given 3 out of 5 stars. Which is a decent score.

Transportation takes place by high speed people/alien movers. The Aurora surprisingly does not support a public ship dock.
The dock masters of the Aurora want to know exactly who is on board. The waiting list for a place on one of the Ooniverses' 100 Auroras is almost 10 years.

Rarely does the traveller in the Ooniverse have the chance to spot the mighty Aurora Megacruiser. But once spotted, never forgotten. With a length of 4.3 kilometres and about 800 meters in height it really is a mobile world capable of supporting 500,000 souls in a standard setting. Transportation takes place by high speed people/alien movers. You may be surprised to learn the Aurora does not support a public ship dock. This is because the dock masters of the Aurora want to know exactly who is on board. A trip on an Aurora is the trip of a lifetime: the waiting list for a place on one of the Ooniverse's 100 Aurora Megacruisers is almost 10 years.

It's a safe ship but it still can be nuked or Q-bombed so expect it to be escorted by quite a large fleet. But rest assured, in case of an emergency evacuation, a large lifeboat fleet can comfortably accommodate the richer passengers.
Enjoy this ship while you can as the ship is going out of service because of the challenges of bringing the clients on board by pods (not featured in this OXP).

The 'Saga' class cruise liners are operated by P&Oo Cruises, who specialise in luxury retirement space-way cruising. These one-and-a-half kilometre long vessels are luxuriously appointed and have all the facilities their demanding clients require including hoverchair-friendly lifts, 0.9g artificial gravity in all passenger areas, plentiful toilet facilities for all genders and species, and even dedicated adult-only ships.

They tend to operate in 'safer' systems for the benefit of passengers looking for quiet enjoyment of their cruise, and the ships will normally be accompanied by two Adder escorts for added reassurance of trouble-free relaxation.

The cabins and staterooms are appointed up to six-star standards and suites are available for those who enjoy more personal service. The ship was given 3 out of 5 stars. Which is a decent score.

== First Customer - GASECspaceliners ==
The Orisis Ferry is a large Megaship by GASECspaceliners. It is based on the basic Orisis hull. It is a large passenger carrier intended for longer distances and also for systems outside the spaceways.

Currently it is operated by Oo-Go which provides different trips and cruises along the 8 galaxies. The Orisis Carrier does not dock, it loads from within the Station Safety Zone.

The first testflight was a disaster. An asteroid that travelled through the Witchspace hole impacted the ship at Diso and the first ship was destroyed. (Read about it in DaddyHoggy's excellent story [http://www.aegidian.org/bb/viewtopic.php?t=6103 Lazarus]). Later versions of the Orisis have some structural upgrades to prevent such disasters. Now the auto lifepod system ejects the passengers in case of disaster.
